If I have found any up side to the Covid pandemic, it’s been that I’m spending lots more time in my studio. I’ve experimented with different techniques and materials. I’ve created a new line that I call “En Tremblant”, based on the 18th and 19th century technique of the same name. The result is a necklace with a tiny bit of movement – not enough to be distracting; just enough to catch the eye. I started working with pearls and crystal, and am now branching out into the use of semi-precious stones. Check it out on the En Tremblant page and in my Etsy store.
Red Sky Gallery
I’m thrilled to have my jewelry for sale at Red Sky Gallery in Lake Forest Park, WA. Laura, the gallery owner, is an amazingly smart, creative woman and lots of fun! So many wonderful artists and artisans are featured there, it’s truly a go-to spot for finding that special gift. The artists are all local, so she’s helping the local economy in many ways. I highly recommend a trip out there. (Masks are required, and there’s hand sanitizer at the door.)
Inspiration
I’m off on another trip in search of inspiration and ideas. Belgium is always a treasure trove of Art Nouveau and Art Deco ideas, and the English countryside always inspires thoughts of the beauty of nature. Look for new items soon, based on this adventure.
Valentine’s Day treats
Valentine’s Day is approaching. Wear your heart on your sleeve – or better yet – on your ears! These new heart-driven styles are a great way to show the woman you love that she has your heart.
A New Model
I was at the Chopra Center in early November – a fabulous week of yoga and meditation – and I had a bit of an epiphany. I love making pretty, affordable jewelry and am happy that it makes my customers happy, but there’s something more that I can do with this endeavor. I am passionate about animal welfare and environmental sustainability, so I have decided that each month I’ll donate a portion of my profits to charities that support them. For the month of December, the charity I’ve chosen is PAWS.
So do some holiday shopping at my Etsy site and help the animals at the same time. Thank you!
